Frequently asked questions.
1.Q. | How many bet slips can LottoWhiz print per minute? |
1.A. | It prints according to the page per minute printer's specifications. |
2.Q. | Can it print the Powerball/Mega Million Gold Ball number as well as the other main numbers? |
2.A. | Yes it can. The Powerball/Mega Million Gold Ball number will have to be set up to print correctly on your play-slips (one time only) by opening the "Powerball Number Printing/Mega Millions Gold Ball" game. These games are used for handling the Powerball/Mega Million Gold Ball number only (statistics, trends & printing). The Powerball number is actually a game by itself and we recommend that you handle it separately to get the best possible number. However once you have defined the printing parameters of those games, any bonus numbers selected in the main (Powerball/Mega Millions) game will be printed to the play slip as well., along with the main selected numbers. No longer will you have to print Powerball, Mega Millions etc, in two runs for each play -slip. (Click here to get screen shots in PDF). |
3.Q. | Can I print numbers from a file? |
3.A. |
Yes, if the following
criteria are met. (For the files that were not created by LottoWhiz!)
In the Abbreviated Wheeling Systems
select Import Numbers From File from the menu
, choose your file and click Open. This will
import and rename the file to a proper format that can be used with LottoWhiz. After
a successful import, you can open it from the Open
button. |
4.Q. | Can I print on bet-slips where the numbers go from top to bottom instead from left to right? |
4.A. | Yes, from the "File" menu choose "Update Game..." and select the game from the dialog box.. Check the box that says "Numbers increase from top to bottom", and click OK. This will take care of the bet-slip printing. |
5.Q. | Can I check the winning numbers against a system created by LottoWhiz? |
5.A. | Yes, in the "Performance-Combinations" section or in the "Abbreviated Wheeling Systems" or in the "Multi-System"section, if you already have create a system, right-click on the window where the combinations are displayed and from the pop-up menu select "Check Numbers". A form with a graph and a number-panel will pop-up. Any numbers entered on the number-panel will be checked against the displayed combinations and the graph will display the number of hits. |
5a.Q. | Can I check the winning numbers against a system created by LottoWhiz that are stored in a file? |
5a.A. | Any system created in LottoWhiz
can be saved to a file. You can load this file at a later time from the "Abbreviated
Wheeling System" section and then from the "Hits
Against Combinations" section you can check your own numbers that you
chose from the number-panel against the system or you can run a report that will show you
the hits of the system against the database. If the number were stored from the "Multi-System" section, you must open them and check them from the "Multi-System" section. |
6.Q. | Why is it, that on some games I cannot print the numbers on the last column of the last board on the bet slip? |
6.A. | Because they' re outside your printer's margins or printable area. Try increasing the printable area through the printer's properties from the control panel. If this still does not work out, then, your best solution is not to print on the last board at all. In the Ticket printing properties declare one less column of number-panels. You will use up more bet slips but it is still more efficient than filling them out by hand. |
7.Q. | Why do I get a "game not found" message? |
7.A. | Always rename games using the LottoWhiz program. It was probably renamed directly from windows explorer. To resolve the problem, rename the game back to its original name from windows explorer and then, using LottoWhiz, you can rename it to anything you want. |
8.Q. | How can I insert drawings in the database, if the buttons are grayed out? |
8.A. | All numbers to be entered into
the database, need to be selected first. When all drawn numbers are selected the buttons
will be enabled. Go to the "Drawing Maintenance"
section and select the main numbers by left-clicking on
the number-panel and the bonus number(s) if any, by right-clicking
on the panel. When all numbers are selected click the "Insert drawing in
the database" button. This actions expects the the drawing entered is
the next in sequence based on the last drawing in the database, the date will be
automatically entered.
***New - Numbers can be typed-in via the number-panel's edit boxes. Also you can right mouse-click on the draws and choose the "Select Rows to edit/delete" option. |
9.Q. | How can I preview the combinations and print them in a multi-column format? |
9.A | After you have
generated a wheeling system, go the file menu that is named after the
section you are in. In the menu drop-down choose the "Advanced
Preview" option. This will display the numbers in a preview
form. On this preview form, go to the "File/Report
Options" menu and change the “Panels Across Page” value to 3,4 or
5 (depending how wide the wheeling system is). Click on the
“Preview” button when done. Save the settings when you are
prompted. (Click
here to get screen shots in PDF).
Note: You can also hide any columns that you may not wish to display from the “Style” section. Just double-click on the “Visible” row and under the column that you wish to hide. |
10.Q. | How can I update my game if the numbers drawn or the pool of numbers have changed? |
10.A | Changes in a
game, such as the amount of numbers that are drawn and/or numbers you select
or the highest number in the game etc., are considered major changes and you
must create a new game with the new parameters in order to update it
(the options are disabled in the "Properties" section). This
optionally allows you to start the game fresh from the beginning, since most
likely these changes have drastically changed the odds of the game and
are really no longer the same game.
If for example a game changed its highest number from 52 to 56 you would follow the steps below in order to update it.
